BLOCK WORK
Signs Your Block Wall Needs Repair
Cracked or broken blocks, stair-step cracks through the mortar, a wall that leans or bows, crumbling joints and water coming through a block foundation are signs a block wall needs repair. Bowing or leaning walls can be structural and should be checked promptly. Smaller cracks and damaged units can usually be repaired before they spread.

Strong and Fire Resistant
Concrete block walls are strong, fire resistant and durable, which is why they are used for foundations, garages and commercial buildings.

Built to the Drawings
We build reinforced and grouted block walls to the engineer’s drawings, with rebar, bond beams and ties where specified.

Repair or Build New

Quality Service

Our Process
At Monarch Masonry, block work starts with the plans or an inspection. For new walls, we review the drawings, confirm footings and reinforcement, and give you a written quote and schedule. We lay the block to line and level, place rebar and grout where specified and build in bond beams, lintels and openings. For repairs, we replace damaged units, repoint cracked joints and tell you when an engineer should assess a wall.
Build or Repair
We lay the block with reinforcement and grout as specified, or replace damaged units and repoint failed joints on existing walls.
Clean & Hand Over
We clean the work area, remove debris and walk through the completed wall with you or your site supervisor.

Yes. We build block foundations, garage and retaining walls, and block walls for additions and commercial buildings.
Can you repair a cracked block wall?
Yes. We replace cracked or broken blocks and repoint failing joints. If a wall is bowing or leaning, we recommend an engineer review it before repair.
Do you work with general contractors?
Yes. We work as the masonry subcontractor for builders and general contractors, building to the project drawings and schedule.
Is a cinder block the same as a concrete block?
The terms are used interchangeably today. Modern blocks are concrete masonry units (CMU), and we use the type and size specified for your project.
