BRICK VENEER
When Brick Veneer Is the Right Choice
Brick veneer is a good fit for new homes and additions, for replacing tired siding with brick, for matching a new addition to an existing brick house, and for feature walls inside or out. Most problems with brick veneer come from what is behind it: missing flashing, blocked weep holes, too few ties or no air space. We build those details in from the start.

The Look and Durability of Brick
Brick veneer gives your home a classic brick exterior that resists weather, fire and impact, with very little upkeep.

Built to Manage Water
We install the air space, ties, flashing and weep holes that let a veneer wall drain and dry, which is what makes it last.

Options for Every Project
Full-bed brick for new walls and additions, or thin brick where weight or space is limited, in a wide range of colours and textures.
Quality Service
Plan & Select Materials
We review your drawings, check the support for the brick and help you choose brick type, colour and mortar.
Prepare the Wall
We confirm the sheathing and weather barrier are ready, then install base flashing and set out the coursing.
Our Process
At Monarch Masonry, brick veneer is installed as a complete wall system, not just a layer of brick. We review the plans, confirm the foundation ledge or support, and help you select brick and mortar. Then we install flashing and ties, lay the brick with a clear air space behind it and leave weep holes so the wall can drain. The finished wall looks sharp and is built to handle Ontario weather for decades.
Install the Veneer
We lay the brick with ties at the correct spacing, keep the air space clear, and form weep holes, sills and openings.
Clean & Inspect
We clean the finished brick, check flashing and weeps at every opening and walk through the completed wall with you.

REVIEWS

What is the difference between full-bed and thin brick veneer?
Full-bed veneer uses standard-depth brick on a foundation ledge with an air space behind it. Thin brick is a slice of brick applied to a prepared backing, used where weight or depth is limited.
Can you add brick veneer to an existing house?
Often, yes. Full-bed brick needs a foundation ledge or support to sit on. If there is none, thin brick may be the better option. We check this during the site visit.
How long does brick veneer last?
Properly installed brick veneer can last for many decades. Over time, mortar joints may need repointing in exposed areas.
Do you install brick veneer for builders?
Yes. We work with builders and general contractors on new homes, additions and commercial projects.
