NEW BRICKWORK
When to Choose New Brickwork
New brickwork makes sense when you are building an addition, adding a garage or porch, building garden walls, pillars or columns, or replacing a section of wall that is beyond repair. Brick is durable, fire resistant and low maintenance. Getting it right depends on the details: footings, flashing, weep holes, ties and control joints. Those are the parts that decide whether brickwork lasts.

Built to Last
Properly laid brick with the right mortar, ties and flashing can last generations with little maintenance, through Ontario winters.

Our Process
At Monarch Masonry, new brickwork starts with a clear plan. We review your drawings or ideas, confirm the brick and mortar, and give you a written quote and schedule. On site, we set out the work, lay the brick to line and level, and build in the flashing, weep holes, ties and control joints the wall needs. We keep the site organized while we work and clean the brick when it is finished, so the work looks sharp from the first day.
Lay the Brick
Our bricklayers build the wall to line and level, installing ties, flashing, weep holes and control joints as they go.
Clean & Final Walkthrough
We clean mortar residue from the finished brickwork, clear the site and walk through the completed work with you.

REVIEWS

Can you match the brick on my existing house?
Usually, yes. We look for a current brick that matches closely or source reclaimed brick, and match the mortar colour and joint style.
Do you work with builders and contractors?
Yes. We work as the masonry trade for builders, general contractors and homeowners, from single walls to full additions.
What can you build with brick?
Additions, exterior walls, garden and screen walls, pillars and columns, porches and steps, mailbox posts, fireplaces and decorative feature walls.
Do I need a permit for new brickwork?
It depends on the project. Additions and structural work usually need a permit, while a garden wall may not. We will tell you what your project needs before we start.
