CHIMNEY REMOVAL
Signs It Is Time to Remove Your Chimney
A chimney you no longer use that is leaning, leaking, missing bricks or needing repeated repairs is often a good candidate for removal. Removal is common after a furnace or water heater is changed to a direct-vent model and the chimney sits empty. Before removing any chimney, we confirm that no appliance still vents through it.

End Costly Chimney Repairs
If you no longer use the chimney, removing it ends the cycle of repointing, crowns, flashing and leak repairs for good.

Stop Roof Leaks at the Source
Old chimneys are one of the most common causes of roof leaks. Removing it and closing the roof eliminates that weak point.

One Coordinated Job
We take the chimney down and coordinate our roofing partner to patch and shingle the roof, so you deal with one team from start to finish.
Quality Service
Inspection & Plan
We inspect the chimney and roof, confirm no appliance still uses the flue, and decide with you whether to remove it below the roofline or further down.
Safe Setup
We set up roof safety equipment, a debris chute and bin, and protect the roof, walls and landscaping around the work area.
Our Process
At Monarch Masonry, chimney removal is planned so your home stays protected from the first brick to the last shingle. We confirm the chimney is no longer venting any appliance, agree on how far down it will be removed, and give you a written quote. Our crew sets up safe roof access and a debris chute, takes the chimney down brick by brick and hauls everything away. Our roofing partner then closes the roof deck and installs matching shingles, and we coordinate the timing so the roof is not left open.
Take Down the Chimney
Our masons remove the chimney brick by brick to the agreed height, keeping debris contained and away from your home.
Roof Patch & Cleanup
Our roofing partner closes the roof deck and shingles over the opening, and we clean up and haul away all debris.

Who repairs the roof after the chimney is removed?
We coordinate the roof patch with our roofing partner, who closes the roof deck and installs matching shingles. You do not need to find a roofer yourself.
Can you remove a chimney that still vents my furnace or water heater?
Not until the appliance is re-vented. If anything still vents through the chimney, a licensed HVAC contractor needs to re-vent it first. We confirm this before any work starts.
Do you remove the whole chimney or just the top?
Both are possible. Many homeowners remove the chimney below the roofline, which stops roof leaks and repair costs. Full removal to the basement frees up interior space but is a bigger job.
How long does chimney removal take?
Removing a typical house chimney below the roofline usually takes 1 to 2 days, with the roof patch done right after. We give you a firm timeline in the quote.
